Art and history: the sixteenth-century villa “Casale di Valle”

Over the years Leonardo da Vinci Winery has taken over Cantina di Montalcino and the Fattoria Montalbano farm and also set up DalleVigne S.p.A. for the worldwide distribution of wine.

In 1988 Leonardo da Vinci Winery took over the Fattoria Montalbano, a farming concern that is now the largest stakeholder with 110 hectares of land, 80 of which are planted with grapevines. These vines, the best thanks to the terrain and exposure, therefore represent the qualitative excellence of the winery and the looking glass through which Leonardo da Vinci Winery has been able to show all the partners the way to obtain top-quality grapes, just like a parent teaching children how to behave through actions instead of words. The Fattoria Montalbano also consists of a small hamlet dating back to 1152 and its main building is Casale di Valle, a splendid sixteenth-century villa that originally belonged to the noble Uguccioni family, relatives of the Medici. Inside the Chapel of Saints Ippolito and Cassiano next to the villa is a painting by Antonio Mini, one of Michelangelo's pupils, a gift for the Medici-Uguccioni wedding. The villa, which has been restored in line with its original architecture, now offers luxury accommodation.

The Cantina di Montalcino winery, founded in 1970 and taken over twenty years later, is located in Val di Cava and was recently renovated in line with an important architectural design that harmonises with the surrounding hills and is based on traditional, environment-friendly winegrowing.

In 2002 Leonardo da Vinci Winery set up the company DalleVigne S.p.A. that specialises in distribution in the HoReCa segment in more than 50 countries all over the world. In addition to sales, DalleVigne also takes care of training its own sales network agents, as well as offering in situ backup with its own brand ambassadors, customer assistance with wine tastings in the various countries, and hospitality at the Vinci and Montalcino wineries. Leonardo da Vinci Winery and DalleVigne form part of the Caviro Group, leading wine producer in Italy.
